Surrounding the Château, on the edge of the beautiful Liorac forest and the Bergerac vineyards, is a forty five acre estate which includes a three thousand meters, nine hole golf course par 35. Please note - we have negotiated generous discounts for guests of Les Roches for golf throughout the year.
This challenging and compact golf course provides excellent training for players of all standards. There are water hazards, bunkers and greens which are renowned as the best in the area. Covered driving range, pitching area with practice bunker and separate putting green are all available at Golf Club Château les Merles. It has a lovely, friendly atmospshere and is relatively quiet - perfect for the novice keen to improve their game without 'feeling the glare of the spotlight'. Its layout and hazards will make for a nailbiting finish for a more experienced, well-matched group .
The new club house has been rebuilt in line with the rest of the facilities, and now includes a fabulous bistro and restaurant. What once was a barn is now a cosy restaurant with a separate bistro that maintains the exterior original architecture. The restaurant, La Bruyère Blanche, also has its own biological garden for vegetables and fruits, which adds a beautiful selection of natural ingredients grown in-house to its menus.
The Bistrot is a welcoming lounge/bar, offering delicious choices for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If you wish to have a snack, the Bistrot pampers you with its home-made dishes and its wide selection of drinks. Their wine list contains only the best wines from the seven Bergerac regions. The contrast between the ancient building and the modern interior makes the Bistrot a rather special to dine. The open kitchen enables you to enjoy the chef's preparation of your dish, using only fresh, natural, regional and in-house-grown ingredients. Decor, food, and service combined, to provide an unforgettable ambiance, which will be enhanced by live music on special Sunday afternoons.
